6 Ways To Create The Life You Desire
I recently got into the vision board bandwagon. I started making one just last year and I found it very useful. Vision boards are simply a collage of pictures and quotes of goals and dreams you want to achieve in the upcoming year. Things like getting your own house, getting a new car, achieving a healthier lifestyle, traveling, etc. You will select pictures that represent these things to you, and paste them on your board. These images will help you visualize the life you want to achieve and keep you motivated to work towards them.
They help prime your brain to recognize opportunities that may otherwise go unnoticed. You’re supposed to look at your vision board before you sleep at night, so the images will leave an imprint on your brain. As you wake up, your brain develops a pattern for your thoughts. These images create a visual directory and filter out unnecessary things that aren’t relevant to your goals.
Here are 6 simple ways to create your very own vision board:
1. Make a list of things you want to accomplish and things you would like to have
Before you start gluing a bunch of pictures on your board, you first need to know which ones you’re looking for. List out what you want your ideal life to look like, and what you need to accomplish in the next year. It helps if you put things into categories such as professional, personal, big dreams, random, etc.
2. Collect a bunch of old magazines, or print out images
Find magazines that have beautiful and inspirational images and quotes. This will be sure to fire up the visual aspects of your goals and dreams, helping you to better “see” them in your head.
3. Find pictures and quotes that represent your goals and will inspire you
Cut out images from the magazine that inspire you and really speak to your soul. Remember you are going to be seeing these images every day for the next year, you must love and understand what these images represent. When you’re looking for these images, find something that will make you say: That is exactly what I want in my life.
4. Make a collage out of your photos
It’s now time to make your vision board! You can be creative here. Glue or tape your pictures on to your board, or use a corkboard and just use a pin to hang the images up. The world is your oyster ‘hun, go wild.
5. Add motivational affirmations to motivate you
Affirmations are mantras you say out loud every day. These words represent how you want to feel every day. You can find different powerful and positive affirmations such as strong, healthy, beautiful, financially free, etc. When you look at your board, say these affirmations about yourself and your life out loud as if they are currently happening.
6. Take a moment to appreciate and completely take in your vision board every day
Take a moment every day to look at your vision board, and meditate. Visualize your life as if you have already achieved all of the things you have put on your board. At the beginning of the day, take a moment to look at your board and take in all the images so they are in your head for the day. Review it before you go to sleep as well, in order to prompt your subconscious mind to come up with new ideas on how to achieve your goals. You will wake up the next day more motivated for success and it helps you act on opportunities to reach your goals.
Remember to keep your vision board in your room where you can always see it. Spend time each morning and evening to visualize, manifest, belief, affirm and internalize your dreams. The time you spend in the evening doing this is especially very powerful because these images will replay in your subconscious mind throughout the night, and you will begin each day with the will to help create that powerful and positive vibration to create the future that you desire.
As time goes by, your dreams will start to manifest, and you’ll be surprised at how so many of these images on your board have already come true. You will thank the Law of attraction for how well it is working in your life. You attract what you want, and you will be amazed at how fast the universe has blessed you with your desires.
Continue to do this every year as you grow and evolve. As the years go on, look back at your past vision boards and be grateful for all of the dreams and goals you have achieved. I’m very excited for you to start your journey and to see how you have created the life you wanted by doing this.
Please share your vision boards with us, and what goals and dreams you have for this new year. We enjoy talking to you guys and we're very excited to be doing this together.
